We’re thrilled to have Trisha Bruynell join our Slide Nine team as an account director. Bringing 15 years of communications experience, Trisha is an incredibly well-rounded professional with experience in strategic communications, executive thought leadership, earned media, internal communication and more.
What brings you joy at work? What inspires you?
I’m inspired by moments of clarity, when the dots finally connect and a complex challenge becomes a clear strategy. The joy for me lies in the learning. One of the best gifts of agency life is the range of topics you’re exposed to. I love those moments when I pause and think, I can't believe I get to be in this room learning about this.
What drew you to the communications field?
At the core, I’m a writer and a storyteller. I’ve always been interested in how language shapes meaning, behavior and perception. Communication sits right at that intersection.
How do you approach creating a memorable client experience?
I always remind myself that while the account may be an organization, the clients are people.
That means listening for the question behind the question, being dependable and showing up with empathy. That's especially true when things are complex or uncertain. I focus on building trust and making the partnership feel collaborative rather than transactional. When clients feel supported and understood, better results follow.
What trends are you keeping an eye on for 2026?
AI and digital tools are making information and entertainment more accessible than ever. They're also easier to overconsume. What I find most interesting is the counter-movement: a renewed appreciation for what makes us uniquely human.
I’m paying attention to how organizations balance technology with humanity. How they're prioritizing real connection, community, creativity and experiences that happen away from screens. The brands that get that balance right feel more grounded, more credible and more resonant.
What's the biggest win or most exciting work you’ve done throughout your career?
Choosing one win is impossible! I’ve loved the range of my career — from the chaos of TGI Fridays’ Twitter to the purpose-driven launch of 'Quiet Spaces' for introverts. But more than any single campaign, I’m proudest of the breadth of experience I’ve gathered across the US and UK. For me, the biggest win is the trust I’ve earned from teams in very different contexts and the fact that so many of those colleagues and clients find their way back into my working life again and again.
What tools/websites do you use to keep up with the latest trends and news?
The New York Times is my go-to for hard news and reporting. I also rely heavily on Substack for emerging voices and off-beat perspectives, and I make a point to read local journalism whenever possible.
I’m a big fan of using my library card to access a wide range of magazines (including some wildly niche and international publications that are great for spotting patterns early.
What are you listening to while focusing on getting work done?
Honestly? Probably my dog snoring.
When I need to really focus, I tend to put on early-2000s playlists. The music I listened to in high school (you know, oldies) is familiar enough not to distract me, but energetic enough to help me get into flow.
What are you most looking forward to in your role with Slide Nine?
I’m most excited to work alongside a team that values curiosity, thoughtfulness and quality. And to build trusted partnerships with clients where the work truly matters.
I’m looking forward to contributing my experience, learning from the team and helping grow both the work and the relationships in meaningful ways.
