S9er of the Quarter is Slide Nine’s recognition program that honors exceptional work. Each quarter, the Slide Nine team nominates employees who have gone above and beyond and the chosen winner is rewarded with a bonus or extra PTO day and bragging rights.
Congratulations to Account Executive Skyler Black for being awarded S9er of the Quarter for Q3 2025! Skyler’s consistency and extra effort continue to build a sense of trust for her clients. As a great agency ambassador who continually seeks to expand her skills and experience, we're lucky to have Skyler on the Slide Nine team.
1. Describe yourself in nine words.
Always curious, persistent, ambitious and optimistic; sometimes late, never uncaffeinated.
2. What are you proudest of accomplishing in the past quarter?
My proudest accomplishments span a plethora of projects this past quarter: from leading Proof Positive’s earned media efforts to fleshing out deliverables for our newest client, Miles-McClellan, we’ve hit the ground running on many new things. The Johnson Investment Counsel team also took home the PRISM award for Op-Ed Columns or Byline Articles in the Profit category for a contributed content piece I helped author.
But overall, I am most proud of the resilience of my team and our clients. Tough times, tougher people.
3. What challenges at work inspire you the most?
I thrive off finding unique solutions to complex problems across different industries — especially when it allows me to try my hand at a new skill. I am most inspired at work by the expertise and passion my team members bring to each challenge, and I learn the most from them when we're navigating complexity together. I like to view challenges at work as opportunities to build my skills and add to my MarComms toolbox.
4. What do you do to relax and recharge outside of work hours?
One of my favorite ways to unwind after work is cooking a good meal, followed by a nice walk outside and some quality TV/couch time. If I have a few hours to spare, I love to craft – especially collaging with old magazines and newspapers. I’m also known to frequent a happy hour or a pickleball court after hours.
5. What’s your go-to coffee order?
A black cold brew. If I’m in Columbus, I’ll pick up my coffee at Bada Bean or Saucy Brew Works; If I’m back home in Farmington, Michigan, I’ll swing by Apothecary or Ground Control.
6. What do you plan to do with your bonus or extra PTO day?
I just moved into a new apartment, so I’ll be using a portion of the bonus to fully furnish the place and make my first adult purchase — a comfy, new couch. If anyone knows where to get a good sofa, let me know!
7. What’s your favorite Slide Nine memory?
Between our in-person QBRs and PowerPoint parties, it’s hard to pick just one! Perhaps my favorite memory with the Slide Nine team was when we all volunteered with the Mid-Ohio Food Collective around Christmas time. Lots of fun while doing lots of good, followed by a (heated) White Elephant gift exchange with the team.
8. If you could spend nine days anywhere in the world, where would you travel?
With nine days, I’d do a tour around Europe to hit the cities I’ve most wanted to visit:
Granted, it would be quite the ambitious trip, but in an ideal world, I’d make it work.
9. Who is your favorite social media creator?
