Slide Nine Teammates Celebrate National Chair Positions at College of Charleston and PRSA New Professionals

Vice President Chris Piedmont and Account Executive Nigel Becker have been honored with chair positions in the associations they serve.

Slide Nine is honored to announce that two of our teammates have been elected to prestigious chair positions in the associations they serve.

Vice President Chris Piedmont has been elected to chair the Department of Communication at the College of Charleston National Advisory Council. Comprised of an esteemed group of communications professionals who've shaped the profession from the White House to the upper echelons of corporate, agency and non-profit America, Chris has served on his alma mater’s National Advisory Council for 4 years. He previously held the position of Vice Chair and Membership Chair, where he helped strengthen connections between students, alumni and communications professionals.

“To be a member of this Council is an honor, and to now be its leader - and the first alumnus to take the reins - is a profound privilege that I don’t take lightly.

I’m looking forward to expanding our ranks to be reflective of our broad but never-more-important profession, mentoring and nurturing the next generation of comms pros, and advising the Department on the challenges ahead.”

Account Executive Nigel Becker has been named PRSSA Liaison for the Public Relations Society of America’s New Professionals section. Nigel has been a part of PRSA New Pros’ Executive Committee for two years, following two years of involvement in the Public Relations Student Society of America in college.

“Getting involved in PRSSA in college was key to discovering my love of PR, so now, I’m excited to pay it forward by working with current students across the country,” Nigel said. “Working with students, the benefits are always bidirectional: I’m able to offer the perspective of a new pro who was in their shoes a few years ago, and they’re able to share fresh insights on PR, social media and what it means to communicate authentically.”
