The Curious Minds of Slide Nine

Curiosity fuels our team. Read more about how we keep the spark alive in our weekly staff meetings.

At Slide Nine, we pride ourselves on being a curious bunch. Every new client and pitch is an opportunity to dive deep into a new subject and learn things we never would have considered before. Over the years, our team has studied topics such as anaerobic digestion, the funeral industry, vacation resorts, condiments and so much more. But our curiosity doesn’t stop with work — our employees have been known to follow things that pique their interest down the proverbial rabbit hole and share them in our #curious-minds Slack channel. Which led to my favorite part of our staff meetings: IFTSI.

IFTSI, an acronym for I Found This Super Interesting, is a program where each week, a staff member gets the floor to share something of interest with the whole team. It can be work-related, but doesn’t have to be, and because we’re a group of communications and design nerds, it usually includes a deck. Some of our past subjects have included:

  • Let’s Talk About Snacks!
  • Finding Inspiration in Unlikely Places
  • AI Trends
  • Top 5 Moments of 2025
  • Two Ways Looney Tunes Changed Pop Culture
  • Comic Sans is Not a Bad Font

When I say this is my favorite part of every week, I mean it — it’s fascinating and inspiring to see what my colleagues are interested in, and to learn something new in the process. And when it’s my turn? You bet I’m going all-in on a niche topic and a themed presentation to go with it.

This culture of curiosity is what makes our team great partners to our clients. We’re genuinely interested in the industries we serve and are continuous learners, keeping up with the latest trends in the ever-changing communication and media landscapes. And if you want to take a deep dive into the life-changing invention of Taco Bell’s Baja Blast? We’ve (okay, I’ve) got slides on that, too.
